Fall 2026 Washington DC Job Fairs and Hiring Events: Your Guide

WASHINGTON, DC — Washington DC's fall hiring calendar opened with two in-person job fairs on opposite ends of the same street: one just off North Capitol Street in NoMa on Wednesday, September 23, and a citywide recruitment and resource fair on East Capitol Street in Ward 7 on Thursday, October 8. Retail followed. Macy's held its holiday hiring day on Thursday, October 22, at Macy's Metro Center and three Bluemercury beauty shops in Northwest, with seasonal part-time store jobs on the table.

Three in-person hiring events between September 23 and October 22, 2026: a job fair in NoMa, a citywide recruitment and resource fair east of the Anacostia River, and a walk-in holiday hiring day at four Northwest stores. All three have taken place.

GWRCCC Job Fair, Wednesday, September 23

The Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition hosted a short morning job fair a few blocks north of Union Station, billed alongside a partner group called Abandon the Reckless. The window was only two hours. The coalition's listing pointed job seekers to a live employer directory that updated as companies signed up; no final employer list or job titles had been published when we checked. Jobs Not Guns Citywide Recruitment & Resource Fair, Thursday, October 8

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | St. Luke's Center, 4923 East Capitol Street SE, Washington, DC 20019

This event has passed.

This was the bigger of the two. Jobs Not Guns planned to bring up to 100 exhibitors to St. Luke's Center, the community center at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, with room to serve up to 500 District residents, high school students included. The organizers are the Washington DC chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors, Inner Thoughts, Inc. and DC Black Concerned Businesses, and the event listing also named the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization and the DC National Guard Counterdrug Program. The mission is plain: connect residents with employers, apprenticeships and support services as a way to reduce gun violence in the city. For a sense of the range, the 2023 fair at the DC Armory drew Metro and Metro Transit Police, DC Fire and EMS, the Metropolitan Police Department, the Carpenters union, Howard University Hospital and DC Central Kitchen. Macy's and Bluemercury Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

Times vary by store | Macy's Metro Center, 1201 G St NW; Bluemercury at 3059 M Street NW, 1625 Connecticut Avenue NW and 3320 Wisconsin Avenue NW

Macy's, Inc. ran the second of its three national holiday hiring days at every Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury store, and in the District that meant four doors: the Macy's store above the Metro Center station and Bluemercury's Georgetown, Dupont Circle and Cathedral Commons shops. Seasonal part-time applications are still open online at macysJOBS and bluemercuryJOBS. Macy's hasn't put out a headcount for Washington, which isn't on any of its top hiring market lists this year. The final national hiring day is Thursday, November 19; call Macy's Metro Center at (202) 628-6661 for store hours.
