FBI Expo and Law Enforcement Career Fair at the DC Armory Oct. 29 and 30: What to Know
WASHINGTON, DC — The DC Armory turns into a two-day law enforcement recruiting floor at the end of the month. The FBI's Washington Field Office holds its first-ever FBI Expo there on Thursday, October 29, and the DC Army National Guard follows on Friday, October 30, with its fall Law Enforcement Career Fair, a listing that promises more than 100 federal, state and local agencies that are actively hiring.
Two days, one building on East Capitol Street: the FBI on October 29, then a multi-agency police and federal law enforcement fair on October 30. Military members and their families get in an hour early both days.

Thursday: The FBI Expo
The FBI calls this an interactive recruiting event, not a booth-and-brochure fair. Expect hands-on displays, demonstrations and face time with special agents, professional staff and the Bureau's specialized teams. Plenty of it has nothing to do with carrying a gun.
When you sign up on the FBI's registration page, it asks which path interests you: Special Agent, Intelligence, Business Operations, STEM, or Security and Investigations. There's even a box for "just curious."
Friday: 100-Plus Agencies Under One Roof
Friday is the wider net. The DC Army National Guard hosts its fall Law Enforcement Career Fair at its own Armory, and the event listing says more than 100 federal, state and local agencies will be recruiting. The Drug Enforcement Administration has confirmed it will have a booth to talk careers and hiring pathways. The full agency list hasn't been posted. The Guard's June 9 fair in the same building drew more than 90 organizations.
Register for either day through the official Eventbrite attendee page. The listing's one instruction: bring your resume.
⚠️ Read This Before You Go
- The FBI hires U.S. citizens only. Every FBI job requires citizenship, no felony convictions, a drug test and a background investigation, plus student loans, taxes and any child support kept current. Details are on the FBI's eligibility page.
- A booth isn't a job offer. Neither event has published openings or headcounts. Federal and police hiring runs through written tests, fitness tests and background checks that take months.
- Not every DC agency is confirmed. The Metropolitan Police Department hasn't been named for October 30. If MPD is your target, know its terms anyway: starting pay of $75,433 and a $25,000 hiring bonus tied to a two-year service agreement.
Two More Criminal Justice Fairs This Fall
Can't make the Armory? The National Law Enforcement Museum at 444 E Street NW, steps from Judiciary Square, runs Criminal Justice Career Fairs on Saturday, October 24, and Saturday, November 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The museum names Montgomery County Police, Prince George's County Police, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, Anne Arundel County Police and American University among its participants. The museum hasn't posted an attendee registration link or an admission price for the fairs, so check its page before you go. It's a better fit for students and career changers.
